To assist students in choosing schools that are in accordance with applicable regulations, an effective decision-making system is needed. This study aims to design a state high school selection system using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (Topsis) method.

School Selection Criteria

In this study, the authors set several important criteria in the school selection process, namely:

Distance: Measuring how close the school location is with the student's residence. This criterion is crucial in ensuring that students can easily access their chosen school.
Amount of capacity: School capacity to accommodate new students. This criterion is essential in ensuring that schools have sufficient resources to support the teaching and learning process.

Research Methodology

This study also implemented a distance search process using Google Maps API, which allows users to find out the distance from the location of their residence to each school alternative. By applying the Topsis method, the system will provide the best alternative school in accordance with user preferences.

The complexity of this system is θ (m+n), where m and n each are the number of alternative schools and the criteria used. The more balanced the choice criteria chosen by the user, the higher the value of the system accuracy in providing school recommendations.
