Introduction

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability, asset structure, free cash flow, and company size on debt policy, with company value as a moderation variable. This study was conducted on 51 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2016 to 2021 period, with data analysis using multiple linear regression methods through Stata software.

The Importance of Debt Policy in Manufacturing Companies

From the results of this study, it can be concluded that profitability, asset structure, and free cash flow significantly affect the debt policy of manufacturing companies listed on the IDX. Although the company's size has a positive influence, the effect is not significant. In addition, company value is proven to play an important role as a moderation in the relationship between these factors and debt policy. This study provides valuable insight for company managers in formulating appropriate financial management strategies, as well as contributing to the development of theory in the company's finances.
