Introduction

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a medical condition characterized by hyperglycemia or high blood sugar levels, as well as disorders in carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between uric acid levels and glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

The results of the analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between uric acid levels and glycemic control, with the value of P = 0.098. In addition, the Mann Whitney test also shows that there is no significant relationship between sex and age of uric acid levels, with the value of p = 0.418 for sex and p = 0.780 for age.

Results

The results of this study indicate that uric acid levels are not significantly related to the measurement of HBA1C and fasting glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
